How do I start using bandOffice?
New users can begin a 90-day free trial by visiting the website and clicking "Sign Up".
What information do I need to provide for a trial?
You only need to provide a unique school name, contact details, and director information to get started.
What happens when my free trial ends?
When (or before) your free trial ends, simply submit your payment to extend your subscription by an additional year.
How much does bandOffice cost?
You'll get access to all bandOffice features for a flat fee of just $500/year. There are no hidden fees, upcharges, or scaling based on group size.
How do I add my students to the platform?
There are three ways to add students: importing an existing spreadsheet (CSV), adding them manually one-at-a-time, or allowing students to self-register via a QR code.
What if I already have my student data in Excel or Google Docs?
You can easily import your roster by downloading a template and uploading it as a CSV file.
Can students manage their own information?
Yes, students can update their own profiles and keep information up to date, and can view (but not edit) their attendance and financial records.
Can bandOffice help track school-owned instruments?
Yes, there is a dedicated Instrument Inventory tool for tracking brands, models, serial numbers, and checkout status.
Is there a way to manage uniforms?
The Uniform Room allows you to store student measurements and track uniform assignments.
How does the system handle different student groups?
bandOffice features both auto-generated groups (like "Flutes" or "Seniors") and user-created custom groups for specific needs. These groups integrate seamlessly throughout the platform's various features.
Can I send real-time notifications to my students' phones?
Yes! Directors can send push notifications that "buzz" students' phones if they have subscribed via the Home Screen App.
Can I use bandOffice to manage volunteers?
Yes, you can create and manage volunteer positions for your events. Your parents and volunteers can find events on your interactive calendar or sign up via a secure link.
What is the "Chaperone's Assistant"?
This tool allows directors and chaperones to track student boarding on buses in real-time during off-campus trips. Never lose another kid!
How are student fees managed?
The "Student Accounts" section acts as a fundraising ledger to track what students owe and payments they have made. Fees can be assessed individually or by groups, and payments can be entered manually or by uploading a full spreadsheet of existing data.
Can I take attendance at rehearsals and performances?
Yes, directors can take attendance for entire groups, marking students as present, tardy, or absent.
Is there a mobile app?
bandOffice is designed to be used as a "Home Screen App," with detailed setup instructions provided for both Apple and Android devices. You get the functionality of a mobile app without the required download or storage space.
